How to reach us
To get to Hynes’ Hunting and Fishing, you have two methods of arrival.
If you are driving, you need to drive to the Newfoundland Ferry in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. The ferry will bring you to Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland. When you leave the Newfoundland take the Trans Canada Highway East (Route 1) to Deer Lake. Deer Lake is approximately 3 hours from the Port Aux Basques. From Deer Lake, take Route 430 North. Approximately 2 hours later you will be reaching Mountain Waters Resort and we will meet you there to go by boat to the hunting camp.
If you are flying, several airlines, including Air Canada has flights in to Deer Lake. A representative of Hynes’ Hunting and Fishing will meet you in Deer Lake and bring you to Mountain Water Resort (Portland Creek). If you flight is arriving late in the evening, consider arriving a day early and spending the night in Deer Lake. The staff at Deer Lake Motel (www.deerlakemotel.com) will be glad to accommodate you.
